This past year Cattrac has been assisting with construction of a few new facilities at the Mt. San Antonio College Campus.

The south campus grading project serves to create additional buildable areas south of Temple Ave for both the Athletics Complex and potentially the future Fire Technology Academy. Over 16 acres of land are being graded for the plan. 

The project includes a full range of construction services necessary to export/import approximately 800,000 cubic yards of earth for site preparations and improvements.

Saddleback College Science Building

The 51,244 square foot, three-floor building will house 26 modern laboratory spaces for academic programs in astronomy, biology, chemistry, geology, marine science, and physics.  The new building will be Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified and will include many sustainable design features, including a courtyard with a themed demonstration garden planted over an underground element to provide on-site retention of storm water, reducing the impact on the campus storm water system.

Cattrac's construction services included excavation and site preparation for the new Science Building which is scheduled to open in 2016.

Pechanga Resort & Casino

Cattrac was excited to be a part of the construction of the Pechanga Band of Luesino Indians' Vegas style casino located in Southern California.

Cattrac's construction services included excavation and grading of the site in preparation for build of the vegas style casino, a 15 story hotel tower, and 2 underground parking garages.

Panoche Energy Plant

The Panoche Energy Center is a 400-megawatt simple-cycle power plant. Dispatched by Pacific Gas & Electric to meet regional power and grid stabilization needs.

Cattrac's construction services involved excavation and grading the 20 acre site in preparation for the new power plant. Man made ponds were also excavated and used for thermal cooling.

Palomar Energy Center

Palomar Energy Center

The Palomar Energy Center is a 550-megawatt power plant, owned and operated by San Diego Gas & Electric Company and was put into commission on April 1, 2006. The power plant produces electricity through a combination of natural gas-fueled and steam driven turbines and has been heralded by top state energy officials for being over 30% more efficient than older power plants in the region.

Cattrac's Construction services revolved around earth moving, mass excavation and grading the site for construction.

Approximately 2 million cubic yards of rock and dirt were removed to lower the Palomar Energy Center by 40 feet, bringing the facility below grade to reduce plant noise and make it more visually appealing to its neighbors.

Otay Ranch Shopping Center

Cattrac's construction services provided to General Growth Properties included grading the 80 acre site in preparation for building the outdoor mall in Otay Mesa Ranch. 

Cattrac also treated 4 inches of the sub-grade with lime to transform the soils into usable material. The lime-stabilization treatment increased the structural strength of the sub-grade.

Morongo Resort & Casino

The construction of the Morongo Resort and Casino was a huge undertaking. Cattrac Construction was able to assist through site preparation, excavating and grading the 20 acre site for the casino and installing all wet utilities before concrete footings were poured.

Cattrac also supplied a crushing operation onsite which produced 10,000 tons of RipRap used to reinforce the gabion walls surrounding the facility.

For the past 20 years Cattrac has had the pleasure to be a part of some major expansions to the Disneyland theme park in Anaheim, CA. 

Cattrac's involvement has covered many areas of the Magic Kingdom including the addition of the California Adventure Theme Park.  

Cattrac's construction services provided to the Disney parks range from earth moving and grading to selective demolition and site work for preparation of new attractions, rides and parking areas.

Kaiser Permanente

Over the past 30 years Cattrac has been able to work with Kaiser Permanente specifically in the construction of it's Medical facilities throughout Southern California.

Cattrac's latest construction collaboration with Kaiser was for its new Medical Center in Moreno Valley, CA.

Cattrac's construction services included excavation and grading of existing materials in preparation for the new facility's construction site.

Target Stores

Target Stores

The cities included: Balboa, Cerritos, Costa Mesa, Irvine Spectrum, Northridge, Norwalk and Carson which also involved soil remediation. The construction services performed by Cattrac revolved around site preparation with a more complicated shoring and excavation process for the Target store in San Clemente. 

Cattrac was able to assist the general contractor in building several Target Department Stores in Southern California through demolition, excavation, grading and site preparation.

Mendota Prison

The Federal Correctional Institution is a medium-security United States federal prison for male inmates located 36 miles from Fresno. 

The facility is located on 960 acres and Cattrac's construction services included grading 100 acres of earth, lime treating 400,000 cubic yards of clay soil in conjunction with the installation of earthquake drains.

The Mendota Prison opened its doors in January of 2012.

Red Bluff Sub-Station

Red Bluff Sub-Station

The Southern California Edison project introduced a 500/250 Kilovolt Power Substation to Desert Center in eastern  Riverside County. Cattrac graded the 80 acre site to specifications and installed all qualified storm drain facilities on site.

The substation will connect the solar energy generated from the Desert Sunlight Solar Farm to the Southern California Edison transmission lines serving most of Southern California.

San Bernadino Juvenile Center

San Bernadino Juvenile Detention and Assessment Center

The design-build project, consists of a group of buildings in a "campus" style arrangement with related site developments and utilities. Prior to beginning construction, crews demolished several older buildings on the 9.7-acre site, which involved asbestos abatement and other site work.

Cattrac assisted in expanding the operational detention facility in various capacities including earth moving and finish grading.

The San Bernardino County Juvenile Detention and Assessment Center is responsible for housing male and female minors, generally between ages 12 and 18, who are detained pending Juvenile Court hearings or who remain in custody by order of the Juvenile Court. The JDAC's mission is to provide a safe, secure and healthy environment which ensures the dignity and fulfills the needs of legally detained minors.

LAX Radisson Parking Structure

The parking structure at the LAX Radisson added over 400 new parking spaces for vehicles in need of long term and hotel parking near the Los Angeles Airport.

The parking structure, set behind the LAX Radisson, required mass excavation for the footprint of its multi level structure and creative shoring at different phases of the project to maintain the integrity of adjacent heavy traffic flowing streets.

Sycuan Resort & Casino

Cattrac was privileged to assist the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation in the construction of their new casino and gold resort. 
The casino is the closest gaming facility to San Diego and the hotel boasts over 100 rooms that are surrounded by a resort style golf course.
Cattrac's construction services for Sycuan included mass excavation, site grading, utilities excavation and shoring.

City Center Las Vegas

Cattrac was excited to be a part of the largest privately financed construction project in US history. Cattrac handled all ground dewatering for the massive 70 acre site on the Las Vegas Strip.

Armed Forces Reserve Center

Cattrac was proud to take part in the construction of the Armed Forces Reserve Center in Bell, CA. The sub-contracted services provided by Cattrac included grading and site preparation for the General Contractor. 

This design-build project included a 178,000-square-foot administrative/training building with a separate 50,000-square-foot high-bay organizational maintenance facility, a 20,000-square-foot warehouse , and parking for all military and privately-owned vehicles.

The project was added to the list of Best of California Construction Awards for 2005.

The San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino boasts a 480,000 square foot casino and bingo hall and a 1190 space parking structure. Cattrac's earth moving operation averaged 30,000 cubic yards per day during site preparation. 
Excavation and shoring for the underground utilities ducting were also on the agenda for Cattrac.

Blythe Energy Project

Cattrac was able to assist in the construction of the 520 MW combined cycle power plant by moving 600,000 cubic yards of earth over the 100 acre energy project site. 

The project consisted of two 170 - Mega Watt combustion turbine generators, one 180 - Mega Watt steam turbine generator and supporting equipment.

Burbank Landfill

Cattrac's construction services for the Burbank Landfill revolved around earth moving. Mass excavation and grading of the entire landfill site in preparation for receiving waste materials were Cattrac's prime directives. 

Once the site was excavated and graded, materials which acted as barriers between earth and waste were placed and compacted to protect the environment from the cell's containment.
